At Five Oaks Family Farm, we pride ourselves in producing 100% natural, wholesome and flavorful beef. Whether your taste is for ground beef or roasts or steaks we are sure that you will find our beef to be some of the best you have ever tasted. Our unique formula of raising our cattle on high quality Fescue pasture for 16 to 18 months of their life and then introducing small amount of grain with the Fescue pasture for several months before processing produces great beef! This formula produces wholesome, healthy, and beautifully marbled steaks, delicious roasts and great tasting ground beef!
Not only is diet important to making great beef, so is the weight of the animal to be processed. Processing at too low a weight results in more tender but less flavorful beef. Processing at too high a weight results in less tender but more flavorful beef. We process our beef at about 1200 pounds which is the perfect combination for tenderness and flavor. This may not be the most efficient and profitable weight but we believe it is the best.
