Doug's Great Steak Marinade
Description In a small flat bottom bowl (we use a baking dish), add the soy sauce and vinegar. Ideally, the marinade liquid will cover the bottom 1/8 inch or so of the steak(s). Drop the steak(s) into the bowl and flip to coat both sides. Then sprinkle on half of the Garlic Pepper and granulated Garlic Powder on one side and then flip and sprinkle the other side. Cover the steaks (we use a paper towel) and let stand on the kitchen counter. Depending upon the thickness of the steak(s), we usually allow about 40 minutes, turn them and then another 40 minutes on the remaining side. Enjoy! |

Steak Fajitas
Description Combine the marinade ingredients in a glass bowl and add the thinly sliced meat into the marinade mixture. Allow the meat to marinate for at least 30 minutes. Heat the outside grill pan or a large indoor grill pan to medium-high heat. Place the onions and peppers into the bowl with the meat and marinade and toss to coat. Remove the meat and vegetable mixture from the marinade and place the mixture into the hot grill pan, discard the marinade. Grill the mixture until cooked through, about 3 minutes. Remove from pan, sprinkle with additional cilantro and serve with warmed tortillas and garnish with the toppings. |

Spicy Thai One Pot
Description Combine the first 6 ingredients and set aside. Measure the rice and set aside. Chop bell pepper, green onions and cilantro and set all aside. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat, add the ground beef and fry 4 to 5 minutes or until browned. Add the bell pepper and stir fry 1 minute longer. Mix in the rice and soy sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed. Mix in the green onions and most of the cilantro, reserving a bit of cilantro for garnish. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes. Makes for 4 servings. |
